Bruce Tulio Takes to the Skies

Being a pilot is a dream to which many young kids aspire, but the percentage of those that actually follow through with that dream is, sadly, relatively low. Some people, though, are able to go through the process of getting their pilot’s license and realize their dream of flying through the skies. One of these people is Bruce Tulio, a man who has been active in the aviation community and continues to seek the fun, solace, and refuge that his plane offers.
Making it Official
Bruce Tulio enjoys flying his Cessna, which he bought after earning his pilot’s license. Getting a pilot’s license is difficult, as students seeking the permit to fly planes on their own must both learn and show their capabilities, quite literally, from the pilot’s seat. Pilot lessons are difficult and, to be honest, sometimes a bit scary, but the skills that are learned during these lessons are key in keeping today’s pilots (and their passengers) safe.
Now a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), Bruce Tulio has joined over 400,000 other pilots in becoming an official part of this association. With the rest of the members of this organization, Bruce Tulio promotes advocacy, leadership, technical savvy, and hard work on behalf of all member pilots.
A New Set of Wings
Of course, after getting his pilot’s license, Bruce Tulio needed a new set of wings. He is the proud owner of a Cessna 152, a two-seat airplane that is popular with many pilots who only fly for personal use. Also a common aircraft used in pilot lessons, this plane is one that was first released to the public in the year 1978.
Active in the Aviation Community
In addition to flying his own plane, Bruce Tulio has embraced the message of the AOPA and become a leader in the aviation community through his work judging the Powder Puff Derby. The first transcontinental air race for women, this is a race that was highly regarded by aviators before it was unfortunately discontinued. Bruce Tulio lent his expertise on the subject and became an important part of the race that he judged.
